Chapter 10: In Hospital- Between Life and Death.




VOCABULARY

Hell: infierno. It is a noun.
A horrible place or situation.
Many people say that working in an office is hell.

Trip: excursión. It is a noun.
To travel to a place for some days to visit something.
I had fun on my trip.

Youth: juventud. It is a noun.
Adolescence.
Nowadays, youth people haven´t got good manners.

Tin-opener: abrelatas. It is a noun.
We use it to open tins.
We haven´t got a tin-opener at home.

Removed: quitar. It is a verb.
Extracted.
My dentist has removed my tooth.

Horseshoes: herradura. It is a noun.
An object to put on a horse´s foot.
I have to put the horseshoes to my horse.

Nurse: enfermera. It is a noun.
A person who looks after injure or ill people.
My cousin wants to be a nurse and she is studing for this purppose.

Bonfire: hoguera. It is a noun.
A large out door fire.
In the village all the year we make a bonfire to burn the old clothes.


SUMMARY


Adrian´s dog had been with his grandma some days. Adrian went to a survival trip with his youth club and he didn´t know how he had survived.
Adrian had an operation to remove his tonsils and he had been on the waiting list since he was five years old. Adrian´s grandma frightened Adrian about the operation.
Adrian went to hospital and he wanted to hide his diary and his mother put it on her handbag. After a while, Adrian hadn´t got tonsils but he had a terrible pain. Adrian didn´t return at home until he had eaten bowl of cornflakes.
Pandora and Adrian had an argument. Bert had a girlfriend.
Adrian got a letter about the phone bill which said that they were going to cut off the phone. The phone had´t line and Adrian thought about running away from home. He also received a telegram from his mother which he didn´t understand.
