Chapter 2: Behind The Waterfall.




SUMMARY


Hawk-eye shot Magua, who was a false "guide". After that, The Mohican, Hawk-eye, Cora, Alice, Duncan and Gamut had to run away from their enemmies, the Hurons. The Hurons chase them but they found a cannoe and they went to the river until they saw a cave where they could hid. Eventually, the Hurons found them and there was a war between both of them, but almost some Hurons were killed.
Finally, Hawk-Eye, Chigachgook and Uncas went to search for help to Fort William Henry and they left Cora, Alice, Heyward and Gamut, who was hurt, in the cave.




VOCABULARY


1. Scout: explorador. It is a noun.
- A person or unit who are destinated to know the position of the enemy.
- The scout follows his enemmies through the forest.

2. Lead: To led: guiar. It is a verb.
- To go in front for others to follow.
- She led them down the path.

3. Tracks: huellas. It is a noun.
- Marks on the ground.
- Look! There are dog´s tracks on that way!

4. Steered: To steer: dirigir. It is a verb.
- To move a boat to the left or to the right.
- I have no idea about how to steer a cannoe.

5. Landed: To land: aterrizar. It is a verb.
- To reach the earth an object which was on air.
-The plane landed two hours ago.

6. Blankets: mantas. It is a noun.
- Object used to a person or animal body specially in bed.
- The blankets are dirty.

7. Botton: fondo. It is an adverb.
- The photo wasn´t on the botton of the trunk as you had said.

8. Supper: cena ligera. It is a noun.
- A light dinner.
- I always eat a supper.

9. Below: debajo. It is an adverb.
- Under.
- The blue box is below the table.

10. Wrestling: To wrestle: luchar. It is a verb.
- To fight with your hands.
- Edwars and Louis wrestled in the playgroun.

11. Wrist: Muñeca. It is a noun.
- Party of the body which joins the hand with the arm.
- I have broken my wrist.

12. Fetch: buscar. It is a verb.
- Look for. Research.
- I fetched my dog but I did not find it.

13. Rope: cuerda. It is a noun.
- A long, thick string.
- When I was climbing my rope broke, so I am in hospital now.
