Chapter 6: Tracks from the Battlefield.
SUMMARY
After the massacre at Fort William Henry, Munro, Uncas, Hawk-eye, Heyward and Chingachgook followed the French army as it marched to the north. They also followed tracks to find Cora, Alice and Gamut, of whom the Hurons thought he was fool.
They came up with a plan to rescue Munro sister and Gamut and they traveled by canoe acroos the lake. During their travel by the river they saw grey smoke above the trees and it seemed that there were people there. Later, two canoes, which were full of Huron fighters, appeared and then they saw other canoe. For this reason, Hawk- eye killed some Hurons with his rifle while they escaped. Finally, the Mohicans, Heyward, Munro and Hawk-eyehid their canoe under some bushes.
